CORDER, CHERYL DEE PUTNAM- Beloved wife and mother passed away December 18. 2019 in her home. She was surrounded by the love of her husband, Bill Corder; son, Todd Corder; daughter, Heather Hellmers; son-in-law, Kendall Hellmers; grandsons, Tristen and Wyatt Hellmers, and granddaughter, Cheyenne Hellmers and family friend Jan Smith.
Cheryl was born June 1, 1947 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, she spent most of her youth moving from Air Force base to Air Force base; Oklahoma, Montana, New Mexico, California, and others. After she graduated from Alamogordo High School, she went to work at White Sands Air Force base as a secretary. When her father, Stewart E. Putnam, retired from Glasgow Air Force base in Montana, he took a job in Port Hueneme California. Cheryl accompanied her parents to the base in California, and shortly after met her husband Bill Corder. Cheryl and Bill were married in Oxnard, California on July 1, 1967 and began their amazing 52-year adventure together. They had 2 children, a son Todd and a daughter Heather. While the children were growing up, she learned china painting and became close friends with Carol Barr. She started her own business teaching and selling china painting products all over the U. S. Cheryl was also the second president of the Porcelain Art Association of California and held the State show in Santa Barbara, California. While she was able, she played golf at Spring River Golf Course.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Putnam and father Stewart Putnam and her grandparents. Cheryl is survived by her husband, Bill Corder of the family home; son, Todd Corder and daughter, Heather Hellmers and son-in-law, Kendall Hellmers. grandchildren: Brittnany Corder, Trinity Putnam, Tristen, Cheyenne, and Wyatt Hellmers; brother, Terry Putnam and sister-in-law, Mary of Young, Arizona; their children, Cathy Bemiller and Danny Putnam. Her best friends, Jan Smith of Roswell, NM and Carol Barr of Payson AZ and Terri Perry of Roswell, NM.
