William Ferns

William passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022, in Roswell, NM. He was born April 18, 1954, in Roswell, NM to Lawrence Ferns and Mary Antram.

MontaRae Gibbs Ferns passed away Friday, January 28, 2022, in Hobbs, NM. She was born June 22, 1950, in Hobbs, NM to Samuel Gibbs and Elizabeth K. Hennington.

William was a dedicated man of law enforcement, of which he retired after 26 years with Lea County Sheriff Department. He took great pride in assisting in training the dogs for the K9 Division.

MontaRae was employed with Excel Energy for 20 years and then proceeded to become the owner of Monties Cafe for 23 years. She loved food, cooking, and most of all her family.

They both were fun and caring and were a very special couple.

A memorial service for MontaRae and William Ferns will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Crosswinds Church in Hobbs, NM. At the request of the family, it will be casual attire.
