Wandal Harrison

Wandal "Lee" Harrison, 89, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017. A graveside service at 2:00 PM will take place at South Park Cemetery on Monday, November 27, 2017 with his grandson, Luke Harrison officiating. The Roswell Masons and Roswell Honor Guard will be rendering their services.

Born on February 9, 1928, in Ardmore, OK he was the eldest of 4 children of Charles Leonard and Mattie Lee Harrell Harrison. His family moved to Roswell in 1935 where he spent the rest of his life until recently moving to Spring, TX to be near his children and grandkids. Harrison spent 3 years in the Air Force from 1946 until 1949 serving in Korea. For a short period of time he worked at the Tweety Farm. He then went to work at Walker Air Force Base in the refrigeration shop until it closed. Lee then went to the Federal Building where he worked in maintenance becoming building maintenance manager until his retirement in 1983.

He met the love of his life, Alpha "Christine" Harrison and they married on June 26, 1949. He was a Mason for over 50 years. After retiring they were active in Good Sam's Club, Rock Hounds and the RAC where he started painting and making jewelry. They also enjoyed having their 5 grandsons come for the summer and took them on trips in their motor home. The kids still talk about all the fun times out at "The Ranch".

Harrison is survived by his wife, Alpha "Christine", of 68 years; son David (Jan) of Lubbock, TX; son Nathan (Jackie) of Spring, TX; Grandsons Ben (Heather) of Henderson, TX, Jim (Anne) of Holiday, TX, John (Mary) of Pasadena, TX, Luke (Amanda) of Atascocita, TX and Sam (Stephanie) of Prosper, TX. Great grandchildren; Jeremiah, Cole, Travis, Lance, DaniAnn, Ty, Evan and Audrey. He also is survived by a sister, Margaret Hilliard (Chuck) of Albuquerque, NM and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Leonard and Mattie Lee Harrell Harrison, 2 brothers Harrell and Charlie, a great-grandson Wandal and a great-granddaughter Charlotte.
