Shirley Ann Scott, 85, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place Tuesday,  November 30, 2021.
A memorial service for Shirley will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at First Baptist Church, 500 N. Pennsylvania Avenue, Roswell, New Mexico 88201.
Shirley entered this world on February 25, 1936 in Floydada, TX, born to Grady and Bernice McAda. She graduated from Tucumcari High School in 1954. Shirley married David R. Scott on May 29, 1955. She met David in the 8th grade in Tucumcari, New Mexico and they shared 72 years together. In their 66 years of marriage, they rarely spent a night apart. Shirley was preceded in death by her mother, father and her brothers Bobby and Jimmy McAda. She is survived by her loving husband David R. Scott; daughters Kelli Scott Goodpasture of Roswell, New Mexico, Kerri Bell (Buck) of Jacksonville, Florida, and Kaye Whitefoot (Kyle) of Roswell, New Mexico; granddaughters Brianne Arias (Zane) of Portland, Oregon, Kayla Steed (Curtis) of Green Cove Springs, Florida, and Abigail Salyer (Brandon) of Johnson City, Tennessee; great grandchildren, David, Mackenzie, Rhett, Garrett, and Elijah; nephews Scott McAda of Florida, Britton McAda of Texas; and niece Kristi Sitton of Louisiana.
Shirley was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed attending her Bible Study group every Sunday and cherished her church family dearly. Shirley loved quilting, and spending time with her granddaughters and family. She instilled a lifelong love of homemaking, cooking, and crafting into her granddaughters and leaves behind an abiding legacy.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the New Beginnings Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church. The family would like to thank Heartfelt Manor for their tireless and loving care of our sweet mother and grandmother. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heartfelt Manor located at 2210 East Pinelodge Road, Roswell, New Mexico 88201 or to the local Alzheimer's Association in Roswell, New Mexico at 500 N. Main, Suite 501, Roswell, New Mexico 88201.
