Shirley Power

Shirley Power, age 93, of Roswell, NM who passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 P.M., Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Another Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Joy Center; with a pot luck to follow.

Shirley was born in Chicago, Illinois to Arthur and Betty Weiss on October 17, 1923. She married the love of her life Robert E. Power and they had their son Robert A. "Bob" Power in 1943. Shirley's favorite things to do was cooking, baking, and assisting her son Bob with the local dances here in town.

She is preceded in death by both parents, her loving husband Robert E. Power.

She is survived by her son Robert A. "Bob" Power of Roswell, NM, grandson Scott Power and his wife Laurie Power, and great grandson Christian Power all of Waukesha, WI.

A special remembrance of her very close friends: Irma Nevarez and Sally Schmidbauer, both women were like daughters to Shirley. Tom Blake. Clyde McKee. Phyllis Thurman. Mary and Carmen "her bingo friends". Two recent friends Gail Skeen and Dorothy Edwards. As well as several people from the Joy Center and her friends from the women's auxiliary of the American Legion Post 28.
