Ruth Alice Casados

September 12, 1937 – April 27, 2025

Our beloved mother, 87, was called home by the Lord peacefully, surrounded by her family in her home in Roswell, NM- just as she wished.

She was a beautiful, loving, and devoted mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

Ruth grew up in Santa Fe, NM. In her youth, she attended Loretto Academy. She enjoyed dancing and teaching Spanish and Flamenco dance. She spent much of her time working with and participating in activities at The Girls Club.

Her career as the director of the Monica Roybal Center reflected her deep passion for caring for and engaging with our youth. Among her many endeavors, she also loved modeling, working in retail, and had fond memories of working as a car-hop.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Filimon F. Casados; her sister, Molly Wasson; granddaughter, Tisha Casados; and her parents, Alice and Tom Martinez.

She is survived by her four children- Ray, Anna, Frank, and Judy- along with their spouses, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other loving relatives. She is also survived by her sister, Viola Wasson, and her brother, Jimmy Martinez.

A rosary will be held on May 13, 2025, 10:30AM, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church in Santa Fe, NM with a funeral Mass following at 11:00AM.

A reception will follow at Patrick Smith Center.
