GOODIN, RONALD "RON" GENE - Ronald "Ron" Gene Goodin, age 85, of Roswell passed away Saturday November 5, 2016. A rosary will be celebrated at 9:00 am with a Funeral Mass following at 10:00 am Friday, November 11, 2016 at Assumption Catholic Church, 2808 N. Kentucky. Inurnment will be in Wausau, WI at a later date.
Ron was born on April 5, 1931 to Guy and Lenore Bedard-Goodin in Superior, Wisconsin. He joined the United States Air Force in 1949. Shortly after entering he quickly gained rank as staff sergeant and proudly served during the Korean War. Ron married the love of his life Jackie Conklin on April 23, 1955 in Pine City, Minnesota and their marriage was blessed at St. Michaels Church in Wausau, WI, on June 6, 1955. Ron enjoyed photography, fishing, hunting, bowling, gardening, and building and flying RC airplanes. He was very skilled in archery and won the Alabama State Archery Competition in 1952. Ron and Jackie traveled a lot with the Senior Circle and their most memorable trips were to New Orleans and Ireland. Ron was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan. Ron loved to walk every morning and he always loved his job as an electrician with Wisconsin Public Service where he worked for 39 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Guy and Lenore Goodin, and a sister-in-law Mary Goodin.
He is survived by his wife Jackie Goodin of the family home, of Roswell, NM; son Guy Goodin, of Weston, WI; daughters Debora Jarosz and her husband Gary of Rothschild, WI, Rene Frank and her husband Randy of Mosinee, WI, Sara Bever and her husband Marty of Birnamwood, WI, Ann Leffel and her husband Norman of Edgar, WI; brothers Roger Goodin of McKinney, TX and Timothy Goodin and his wife Nancy of Coon Rapids, MN; sister Patricia Goodin of St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren Daniel Bentz, Seth Nelson, Cale Frank, Joseph Goodin, Matthew Goodin and his wife Amber, David Goodin, Adam Bever, Elizabeth Bever, Brittany Leffel, Benjamin Leffel; and great-grandchild Carter Goodin; and many nieces and nephews.
Ron passed with his loving wife Jackie and his dogs Charlie and Tillie at his side.
