Richard Stevenson

STEVENSON, RICHARD "RICK" D.- Richard "Rick" D. Stevenson of Roswell, NM passed away surrounded by family on Monday, June 4, 2018. He was 68 years old. Rick was born March 8, 1950 in Texarkana, Arkansas.

Rick graduated from Ruidoso High School in 1968 where he excelled in athletics, primarily baseball and football. After high school, he started a profession in the grocery business. His work led him to live in numerous locations throughout the Southwest until he eventually settled in Roswell, NM. In Roswell, Rick found his niche with Farmer's Country Market, where he proudly worked for 24 years.

Rick was a dedicated manager to the south store and was a beloved employee, mentor, boss, and co-worker to so many. In his spare time, Rick enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing trips, watching sports, and being around his grandkids. Rick was a man of few words, however his generosity throughout his life was from the heart and experienced by many who will never forget.

In December of 2013, Rick was diagnosed with lung cancer and was determined to beat it. With the love and support from his family, friends, and Farmer's Country Market, Rick won the battle.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Stevenson and Erma Stevenson; siblings, Carrie Tydlaska, Patrick Stevenson; brother-in-law, Harold Rushing and grandson, Bryson Stevenson.

Rick is survived by his wife, Jean Stevenson; sister, Juelan Rushing, sister, Deana Osterman; brother, Lonnie Stevenson and wife Darla; children, Ricky Stevenson, and partner Gloria; Presli Stevenson, and Michael Stevenson and wife Angel; stepdaughters: Casey Burnett and husband, Dusty; Lisa Ebell and husband Paul; Emily Montgomery and husband Lewie; grandchildren: Meghan and Journey Stevenson, Devin and Casey Stevenson, Braelyn and Shaylee Stevenson, Peyton and Kendall Burnett, Jack Nolen and Alice Ebell, and Samuel and Reid Montgomery.

There will be a celebration of Rick's life at 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel. A luncheon will follow at 1:00 PM at NMMI Golf Course.
