Ray Vick

VICK, RAYMOND FLOYD-Memorial service for Raymond Floyd Vick, age 99, will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at LaGrone Funeral Chapel. Hospice Chaplain Tim Arlet will officiate.
Ray passed away peacefully at home on December 3, 2014. He was born January 31, 1915 in Loyal, Wisconsin to Clarence Henry and Nevada McKenzie Vick. They preceded him in death as did two brothers; Harold Vick, and Robert Vick and two sisters; Geneva Mauk and Gladys Cooper.
On May 31, 1943, Ray married Dell Marie Turner who also preceded him in death.
Ray is survived by his daughter; Mary Rodden and husband Jack of Roswell, Suzan Wilkinson and husband Gary of Goshin, IN, 5 grandchildren; Alison Fischer and husband Curtis, Alisa Vandevender and husband Bruce, Paul Rodden and wife Mary, Erik Wilkinson and wife Krystal, Aaron Wilkinson and wife Brenda, eleven great grandchild; as well as one brother; Kenneth Vick and one sister; Alta Mitchell.
Ray will always be remembered by his warm smile and kind, thoughtful spirit. He served as a great patriarch to his family with his examples of patience and what a loving father should be. He delighted in helping others and he shared his many talents in building and refinishing furniture.
During WWII Ray worked in California as a tool and die maker for airplane parts. He moved his family to Roswell in 1947, and retired from Southwestern Public Service Company as foreman at the power plant. After retirement he enjoyed working with the ENMMC auxiliary thrift store.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Gentiva Hospice for their loving care and to special friend Jackie Harris for bringing joy to their home.
