Ray Seale

In 1964, Raymond U. Seale Jr was born to Jerry Nelle Ward and Raymond U. Seale Sr. in Dallas, Texas. They moved to Denver, Colorado then Glyn Ellen, Illinois. When he was 9 years old, he came to Roswell, New Mexico where both his grand parents lived. He attended Roswell schools where he made lifelong friends. He would go on to NMMI where he would play the French Horn in the band, developing a love of music. He graduated in 1982 with again having made many friends.

He became a popular DJ for KBIM, and he also was a DJ with the college station while he attended Wayland University. He completed college at Columbia College in Chicago, living and working there for around 20 years. He met and still has many friends from that time. There is where he developed skills in Computer Technology.

At the age of 9, he accepted Christ and became a member of First Baptist Church, in Roswell. The youth group became a very important part of his life- even now. He led similar groups in churches in Chicago and in Taos.

In Taos, he worked for the Taos News for several years before moving to California where he was a Tech for the VF Corporation (Vans shoes). It was in Cypress, California where he married Jeanette Casar. They raised a number of Heelers, including a 3 legged one and 2 blind dogs, among several rescues (The latest being Dexter and Dolly).

Ray always made many friends wherever he lived.

He was predeceased by his father, and both sets of grandparents, his stepfather, Lloyd Stone and a special cousin, Sheree Wenger of Maryland. He leaves behind his wife, his mother, his sister Stephanie Olson (Chris) and children Aaron and Juli; Bill and Ruth Stone and their children and grandchildren plus too many dear friends to list (Each one special and not forgotten). A special thank you for all the kindness shown during Ray’s illnesses and passing.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made in Ray’s name to Roswell Baptist Church’s Youth Ministry (500 N Pennsylvania) or the Assurance Home (1000 E 18th St. Roswell, NM). He was cremated at his request. There will be a memorial service on March 20, 2026, 2pm, at First Baptist Church.
