Polly Morris

MORRIS, POLLY ANN STOCKARD- Polly Ann Stockard Morris, age 89, passed away Monday, February 24, 2020 at the family home in Roswell, NM.

A visitation for Polly will be held Friday, February 28, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, 900 South Main Street, Roswell, N.M.  Graveside services will be held at South Park Cemetery, 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 29, 2020, Pastor Troy Grant of Berrendo Baptist Church will be officiating.

Polly was born November 5, 1930 in Roswell, NM to John Alexander Stockard, Jr and Eula Ethel Abercrombie Stockard.  Polly worked for many years at Atlantic Richfield Oil Company and then after having two sons as a housewife.  Polly was very active in the Noon Optimist Little League and served on the board for many years.  She was also a member and served as the church clerk for Berrendo Baptist Church.  She loved her Lord and church family.  Her hobbies included bowling in the Roswell City League and playing Bridge with the club at the Roswell Inn Weekly.

On December 26, 1955, Polly married the love of her life, Robert Winstel Morris, Sr. in Roswell, N.M. and lived and raised their two sons here.

Polly is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert Winstel Morris, parents John Alexander Stockard, Jr. and Eula Ethel Stockard and a brother John Stockard.  She is survived by her sons, Robert W. Morris, Jr and Randall Wilson Morris of Roswell; brothers Philip Stockard, Derryl Stockard, and Perry Stockard.  Grandchildren: Robert Winstel Morris, III; Michael Ray Morris, Madelyn Grace Morris; Great-Grandchildren: Madelyn Grace Morris, Haley Nicole Morris, and Gracie Morris.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and love that was shown to Polly in the recent years during her illness and recovery.
