Philia Louise Purcella Wilson passed away Friday, September 15, 2017. A memorial and celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Midway Family Church 63 Yakima Road, Midway, NM. Pastor Jack Ferguson of Tinnie Baptist Church officiating.
Philia Louise Purcella Wilson was born January 24, 1945 in Globe, Arizona to Martin and LeVerne (Jackie) Purcella. Philia's lifelong love was her family, ranching, team roping, dancing; and the animals that were a part of her life. Her zest for life was mirrored by her varied interests and acquiesces. She was one of New Mexico's first certified Para-Legals and for many years was Director of Para-Legal Studies at Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell. Philia was a gifted artist, whose painting have been placed on public display. She was a licensed pilot. Her ability as a coach for aspiring rodeo queens was well known. Philia was active as a local and state Officer of Kairos Outside, a Christian Ministry to the families of incarcerated men. Philia loved life and all of God's creatures, great and small. She was a cherished member of the Tinnie Baptist Church.
Philia was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and LeVerne (Jackie) Purcella.
She is survived by, husband, Ken Wilson; son, Windell (Dub) Wilson; daughters, Helena Crabtree, Pat Simmons; granddaughters; Nichole Zielinski, Audra Wilson, Kacy Phares,
Sister Margie Purcella and a host of Great-Grand Children, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who love her.
