Mary Romero

Mary Lucy Romero, 79 of Roswell, NM went to be with her beloved Savior on May 24th, 2020. She was born on December 12, 1940 in Valiadero, New Mexico to Felix and Beatrice Anaya. Mary grew up in Santa Rosa where she attended school.

Mary Lucy was employed by Sunset Villa Nursing home for many years and then became a full-time housekeeper. She loved to crochet and sew. Mary often made many creations for her friends and family.  She loved to play board games and read her Bible. Mary never met a stranger and always had a smile for everyone. Her strength, despite great pain, was evident in the way she never let it get in the way of living.  She loved the Lord and was always ready to share His love with others. Mary loved her family and was always a blessing to those around her.

Mary is survived by her spouse, Juan Jaramillo of Roswell; her brother Geno Anaya from Clovis; her daughter Ruth (husband Ed) David, of Roswell and their son, Peyton;  her nieces Brenda (husband Chris) Oritz of Roswell and their daughters Natalie Carabajal and Aubrey Tarin; Sara Salas of Roswell and her children Priscilla, Nayomee, and Arian; and Rebecca Salas of Fort Worth, and her son Davin.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Beatrice Anaya of Tucumcari, her brother Felix Anaya from Albuquerque, her brother Heraclio Anaya from Tucumcari; her son David Romero from Tucumcari; and her daughter Diana Salas from Roswell.

Viewing will be on Friday May 29, 2020 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel from 10:00am – 3:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 30, 2020 at 2:00pm at LaGrone Funeral Chapel.

She was greatly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
