In Loving Memory of Martin Mares
Remembering a Life Well Lived
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Martin Mares on February 15, 2026. Martin was a cherished member of his family and community, known for his kindness, integrity, and unwavering support for those around him.
Martin was a lifelong Jehovah’s Witness, faithfully serving as a Bethelite and elder for many years. His devotion to his faith was evident in every aspect of his life, and he found purpose and fulfillment in his service. Martin deeply enjoyed helping others—Witnesses and members of the community alike—and never hesitated to extend a helping hand to anyone in need.
With a joyful spirit, Martin never failed to make someone laugh and never treated anyone with unkindness. He forgave easily, and though imperfect like anyone else, he never held another person’s imperfections against them. His warmth, humor, and open-hearted approach to others made a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Martin's legacy is one of love, compassion, and dedication—to his loved ones, his work, and his passions. His memory will live on in the countless lives he enriched, and the values he instilled in his family and friends.
Martin is survived by his devoted daughters, Yesenia and Andrea; his cherished grandchildren, Leia and Nikolai; his adoring siblings, Manuela, Martha, Jorge, and Pedro. Martin was preceded in death by his beloved brother and close friend, David, and his loving mother Juana. He is also survived by his wife, Barbra Harrison. Those who loved him dearly will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. While words cannot fully express the loss felt by those close to him, we find comfort in the enduring impact of his life and the fond memories we hold.
Martin Mares will be remembered with love and gratitude. May he rest in peace.
