Martin Gilliland

Private family services are planned for Marty, who went home to be with the Lord Thursday, December 31, 2020.

Martin Ross Gilliland was born on September 30,1950 in Roswell, NM to Joseph and Florance Gilliland, who preceded him in death.

From 1968-1972 Marty served his country as Chief Petty Officer First Class in the United States Navy, and later dedicated his life to caring for others in the healthcare field, as an EMT Paramedic and caregiver here in Roswell. He loved listening to rock and roll, the LA Dodgers, reading, and his cats, but most of all he loved his family. He considered himself blessed to marry the love of his life and best friend, Linda Gilliland, who succeeded him in death.

Also left behind to cherish his memory are his children and grandchildren: son, Jessman Gilliland, and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Avery Gilliland, and Everly Gilliland of Roswell, NM. Grandchildren Brittany Duarte, Dominic Duarte, and Issac Duarte of Carlsbad, NM. Son, TJ Gilliland, and wife Adelita, and granddaughters LaVonne Gilliland, Veronica Gilliland, and Izabell Gilliland, of Roswell, NM. Granddaughter Samantha Merkel of Colorado Daughter Katie Gilliland Fain, and husband Robert Fain, grandchildren Travis Wellman, Joseph Wellman, and Emily Wellman, of Roswell, NM. Granddaughter Allison Weaver of Longview, TX.
