Luther Cullins

Luther, M. Cullins, age 76, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, April 14, 2016.

He was born October 3, 1939 in Roswell, NM, to Luther and Myrtia Williams-Cullins.

Luther grew up on a farm on west McGaffey in Roswell with 7 siblings, graduating from ENMUR with a degree to work with disabled children. Before moving to California, he worked for the State of NM for many years. Luther Cow-Boyed most of his life, he belonged to the pro-rodeo, his events were bull dogging and roping. While living in Bakersfield, CA, Luther worked in construction. He also belonged to the Valley Baptist Church, becoming a devoted Christian, he received his certificate to become a minister. Knowing 3 languages made it easier as Luther was able to travel to Thailand and China to do disaster missionary relief work. As Luther returned to his home town, Roswell, he grew tomatoes and enjoyed his 3 fur babies, as he called them, his dogs were his world. Luther was known as "Uncle Man" to his nieces and nephews. He was a gruff man with a big heart and will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Myrtia; brothers, Leon and Jerry Cullins; sisters, Joyce Sartin, Dean Daugherty, and Penny Werner.

He is survived by his brother Sonny Cullins of Aledo, TX; sister Fay Thrasher of Santa Paula, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

No services will be held.
