Linda Louise Letcher
Linda Louise Letcher (Pettes) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 21, 2025, at the age of 82. She was born to her father, James William Pettes and her mother Lorene Pettes (Journey) on October 17, 1943, in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
She grew up with a strong dedication to the Lord and an unwavering love for her family. At a very young age, she learned to ride and care for horses, and that same admiration she carried with her throughout her life. She was an artist, with an unimaginable southern twang in her voice. She was also a self-taught musician, mastering many instruments including the accordion and the piano.
She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1961. She went on to work in the hotel industry for many years before retiring from the medical field working in the records department.
She was a woman of routine, very rarely straying from her normal. Every day like clockwork, she would drink her coffee whilst she read her bible, picking up where she left off from the day before. She was faithful to her Lord, always attending church, whether in person or by watching her favorite Sunday morning ministry with Jimmy Swaggart.
She loved spending time with her family and friends playing table games like dominoes, and Cards-n-Marbles. Also, watching her favorite shows; NCIS, CSI, Criminal Minds, Bones, Gunsmoke and pretty much any western.
Linda was a beautiful soul, inside and out. She displayed a sense of simpleness that one cannot be taught. She was patient; and she was forgiving. She was known as Mother, Grandma, GeGe, and Aunt Linda.
Linda is preceded in death by her mother and her father; her brother Roy Pettes; Her husband, Jerry Letcher; her grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.
