Lewis Melvin Rackler

Lewis Melvin Rackler, 72, beloved Brother, was called to his eternal resting place on January 25, 2026. He entered this world on November 27, 1953, in Lubbock, TX, born to Lewis and Pinkie Rackler.

Melvin spent his early years on a farm in Floyd, NM, attending Floyd schools. He married Domie Ortega Paiz in 1986. They made their home in Las Cruces before moving to Roswell. Before retiring, Melvin was a truck driver, working for Ruan Transport in Roswell.

Melvin loved hunting, fishing and camping. He was an avid gun collector. He also enjoyed family, loved teasing his nieces and nephews with his great sense of humor.

He is survived by his sister Gala Rackler (Donnie Nutt) of Clovis and brother Doyle (Stacy) Rackler of Amarillo, TX and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and two wives - Domie and Julie.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 2 at 10:00 am. at Waymaker Church in Roswell.
