Karen Sue Arnold

Karen Sue Arnold, 73, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, in Roswell, New Mexico. Born on July 27, 1952, in Roswell, Karen spent her life bringing joy and positivity to those around her.

Growing up locally, Karen graduated as valedictorian from Dexter High School and went on to attend Eastern New Mexico University before marrying the father of her three children Gary Arnold. She was a dedicated wife and mother supporting her husband’s military career and cultivating a beautiful life and family. Life later led her to the love of her life, Dennis Garland, who she spent the better part of three decades with enjoying life and supporting one another.

She also went on to build her own successful career in hotel service management, where she not only excelled professionally but also served as a mentor and teacher to many. Her guidance and leadership left a lasting impact on her colleagues in the industry.

Karen’s life was enriched by her love for arts and crafts, particularly quilting. Her creations were a testament to her creativity and attention to detail, bringing warmth and beauty into the lives of those who received them. Beyond her artistic talents, Karen was known for her positive energy and youthful spirit that were ever present and endeared her to everyone she met.

She was a caring and loving wife, life partner, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Karen is survived by her sons Scott and Chad; grandchildren Elizabeth, Jayme, and Bailey; great grandchildren Kimber, Sutton, and Quinn; and her sister Dianne. She was predeceased by her parents Howard and Irene Dorman; her son Justin; and Dennis, her beloved life partner.

Karen’s memory will be cherished by all who knew her. May the legacy of her kindness and vibrant spirit continue to inspire those she touched. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 31, 2026 at 1:30 PM at Hampton Inn & Suites Roswell 3607 North Main.
