COON, JUSTIN EDWARD- Justin Edward Coon, 44, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2019 in Lubbock, TX. Justin was born August 24, 1975 in Alamogordo, NM to James (Rob) Coon and Pamela McDevitt Coon.

Justin was a member of First United Methodist Church. In his youth he played Baseball for Goddard High School, Wrestling, and Cross Country, graduating in 1993 from High School.

Justin always had a smile on his face, and had a way of making everyone around him laugh, was quick-witted and entertaining.  He loved to go fishing and drag race with his dad. Justin was extremely generous with what he had and was very kind hearted and never would say “Goodbye”.  Justin was an avid gamer, he enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and whoever played the Cowboys. Justin loved to eat lemon heads, corn dogs and drink red slurpees.

Justin was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Ruth Jean McDevitt; paternal grandparents, Jack Coon, and Mae Coon; maternal great grandparents, Brian Thomas, Adeline Thomas, and Mary Ellen Rose.

Justin’s memory will be cherished by his daughter, Makenzie Coon, of Lubbock, TX; which he adored beyond measure; his parents, James (Rob) Coon and Pamela McDevitt Coon, of Roswell, NM; his brother, James (Spencer) Coon of Chandler, AZ; his sister, Courtney Coon, of Dallas, TX; grandad James (Jim) McDevitt and former wife, Kimberly Valenzuela.
Justin is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Patty and Paul Rodgers; Penny McDevitt Hanak, Perry McDevitt, Paula and Jeff Schrimsher; Jan and Ruf Jordan; and Judy Garcia.

Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Rodgers, Peter Zagone, Jeffery Schrimsher, Chuy Valenzuela.

A funeral service for Justin will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, September 20, 2019 at First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery with Rev. Tina Cross officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked contributions be made in Justin’s honor to Cowboy Bell Scholarship Fund, 200 N. Pennsylvania, Roswell, NM 88201.
