MAPLES, JOYCE -Joyce Maples was born on November 14, 1942 to William Harvey and Ruby Lee Smith in Dallas, Texas. Joyce passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018.

Joyce was a long time resident of Roswell. She attended Apostolic Bible Church for some time and loved the parish community, the Pastor and his wife. She loved God and His Word!

She worked at Glovers Meat packing for many years, Levi's Straus and also Target...she also worked a few other places thru out her life in Roswell.

She loved to crochet and for a season in her life that was what you would find her doing most of the time. She made many beautiful crochet pictures...some were of the Lord's Last Supper and The Great Shepherd that she gave to her children along with many other beautiful crocheted items.

Joyce also loved to read mystery novels, Ann Rule was one of her favorites. Years later after she retired she would get on line with her friends and play her favorite game of Hearts and chit chat with people from all around.
She loved her faithful Dog and close companion, Daisy, which was never far from Joyce's side.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruby Marie Jones and Ellen Ruth Garcia; brother, Harvey Lee Smith.

Joyce leaves to cherish her precious memories, daughters, De Ann Marek and Debra Kay Garcia; son, Steven Matthew Maple; sister, Sharon Kay Cummings; nephew, David Hutson; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Joyce was much loved and will be missed so much by all her family and friends. She will live on forever in all our hearts.

A viewing for Joyce will be held at 3:00PM, Sunday, November 25, 2018. At LaGrone Funeral Chapel.
A Grave side service will be held at 2:00PM, Monday, November 26, 2018 at South Park Cemetery.
