Johnene Grant

GRANT, JOHNENE LYNETTE- Johnene Lynette Grant, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in Lubbock, TX.

Johnnene was born December 26, 1951, in Roswell, to Walter "Snookie" and Johnnie Bob (Davenport) Griffith. She was raised on the Griffith Dairy which was located off of East 2nd in Roswell.

Johnene married the love of her life, Gordon Grant, on June 4, 1971, and they were blessed to have 47 years together. She is well known for her love of painting and animals: especially her Yorkies and German Shepherds.

Johnene is survived by her husband, Gordon Grant of Artesia; daughter, Vicki Lawson, and her husband David of Lubbock; daughter, Melissa Kissell ,and her husband, Steven, of Fort Worth; brother, Curtis Griffith, of Albuquerque, and grandchildren, Grant, Abigail, Sarina, Samuel and Daniel.

Johnene is preceded in death by her parents Walter "Snookie" and Johnnie Bob Griffith; sister, Annette Norman; brother, Don Griffith; sister-in-law, Mary Griffith Kent; father-in-law, Sterling R. Grant; mother-in-law, Norma Grant, and nephew, Sterling Grant III.

A funeral service for Johnene will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 8, 2018 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.
