Joan was born on March 21, 1935 in Pine Camp, Nebraska to Kenneth Wayne and Vivian Bea (Pease) Gipson, where she spent the first part of her life, growing up on the family farm. After graduating high school from Keya Paha High School in 1953, she went to Denver where she entered her nurses training. Upon graduating, she worked at Saint Luke's Hospital where she had received her LPN training. In the fall of 1955 she moved to El Paso, Texas to pursue her career in nursing. While working there, she met Clarence Siringo Adams and they were married on November 26, 1956. They resided in Weed, Artesia, and Roswell New Mexico throughout their 48 years of marriage. Joan dedicated her life to being a homemaker. She leaves a crowning legacy of many years of service in Sunday School where she introduced countless 3rd graders to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Joan spent many years volunteering at Sunset Villa Care Center. During their retirement years, they established a business called Old Time Publications where they wrote and published books, and also published books for other authors. They moved to Peachtree Retirement Community in 1999 and at the time of her death, she was the longest tenured resident.
