Jason Smith

October 24, 1970 — June 10, 2015

A private service was held for Jason Carl Smith, age 44, who passed away on June 10, 2015.

Jason was born to Carl and Vicki Smith in Yuma, AZ on October 24, 1970. Jason was full of energy and life, he loved to laugh. His happiness came from making people laugh that was his joy and the pleasure he took in giving people the gift of humor. He was also very generous and there was nothing he would not do to help others. At his 11 year old birthday party, his whole baseball team celebrated with pizza and as his "party favors", Jason gave out all of his birthday money (that he had just received) to his guests. He was a paramedic for over 20 years, during which he did critical care flights. He will be remembered for his generosity, his humor and his compassion in serving others.

He leaves behind his fiancé Breann Barber of Roswell, NM; his parents Carl and Vicki Smith of Woodstock, IL; sister, Jamie Crandall and her husband Todd of Crystal Lake, IL; daughers, Briauna Smith of Las Vegas, NV; Emily Siefert of Denmark and Riley Rupert of Sparks, NV; grandchild, George Anthony Smith of Las Vegas, NV.

"But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him." Luke 10:33-34 (NKJV)

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jason's name to the American Diabetes Association, at www.diabetes.org.
