Janie Ann Gosselin

October 25, 1948 — November 27, 2023

Roswell

Janie Gosselin, age 75, of Roswell, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023.

Janie was born on October 25, 1948 in Tucumcari, NM, the only child of Kenneth and Hazel Hahn. She was raised in Alamogordo, NM, and went on to live in many different cities, states, and countries – but her favorite by far was Katzweiler, Germany. Janie moved to Roswell in 1994 where she became a case manager and later a realtor. She then went on to work at the Roswell Small Business Development Center, as a business specialist.

Janie loved gardening and just hanging out in her beautiful backyard listening to Journey, Fleetwood Mac, Matchbox 20, and Hootie and the Blowfish. Her home was always an open door to anyone who wanted to swing by and hang out.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Those left to cherish Janie’s memory include her son, Brian Gosselin (Amanda) of Eugene, Oregon; her daughter Lisa Lentkowski and very special daughter-in-law Misty Metcalf, who took care of her the last four years of her life of Roswell; and a granddaughter Elise Gosselin of Eugene, Oregon. Janie is also survived by her favorite cousins Sharon Sanz and Jadine Davis who called her to chit chat every week. Her surrogate ‘son’ Brad Mayfield and her best friends, her “Girls Club” - Carolyn Arias, Jamie Joyce, Joleen Montana, and Pam Rambin, who had made sure to get together as often as possible for almost 30 years!

A memorial service for Janie will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff at Gentiva Hospice and at Mission Arch for the loving care and compassion they showed our mom.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make a contribution in Janie’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Chaves County Cancer Fund.
