James Kisselburg

James Robert Kisselburg, age 69, of Roswell, who passed away on May 25, 2015 will lie in-state from 9:00am to 7:00pm, Friday, May 29, 2015 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel . A funeral service will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, May 30, 2015 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel. Pastor Sean Lee will officiate.
James was born to George R. and Thelma Kisselburg on November 3, 1945 in Santa Fe, NM.
He graduated from Roswell High School in 1964. James joined the Roswell Police Department on April 1, 1967; he served for 27 years, beginning as a uniformed patrolman and was promoted to detective, sergeant and retired as lieutenant in 1995.
After his retirement, he served as the Executive Director for the Chaves County Teen Court Program for many years. James had many varied interests, but his primary passion was music. He wrote and performed music in many local groups, including the Southwest Trio. He was an active member of Grace Community Church; He enjoyed traveling and had many beloved friends from many generations and walks of life.
James is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Era Ellen Kisselburg; brother, John Mack Kisselburg
He is survived by his wife, June; sons, Jim Kisselburg and his wife Krista of Grapevine, TX; J.D �½Jack�½ Kisselburg and his wife Amanda of North Richland Hills, TX; daughters, Elisa Phoedovius and her husband Jon of Carlsbad, CA; April Kisselburg of Carlsbad, CA and Tennessee Kisselburg of Bedford, TX; grandchildren, Morgan, Joe, Autumn, Ellen, Lilly, Elias, and William. He had numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, many other family members and friends that will miss him greatly.
James was a faithful public servant and advocate of all, especially the youth. He served the Roswell community all of his life. He will be sorely missed.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremy Kisselburg, Robert Kisselburg, Steve Smith, Duane Votaw, Tom Edgett, and David Lynn Kisselburg.
