BORUM, H.E. JACKPrivate Military Graveside Rites are scheduled for Monday, August 14, 2006 with the Roswell Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial Services are scheduled for Monday, August 14, 2006, at 1:00 P.M. at Highland Baptist Church for H.E. Jack Borum, age 88, of Roswell, who passed away Friday, August 11, 2006, at his residence. Rev. Butch Neal of South Manor Baptist Church will officiate.

Visitation will be at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, August 13, 2006 from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Jack was born June 25, 1918 near Deepwater, Missouri to Leland K and Sarah M. Borum. He was the oldest of 12 children. Jack was a graduate of Central Missouri State College, Central Baptist Seminary, and Midwestern Baptist Seminary. Jack served in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1942-1945 during World War II. He was wounded on Iwo Jima and after seven months in the hospital received a medical discharge. On July 18, 1945 he married Edna Robison. She was a great support to him throughout their 61 years of marriage.

Rev. Borum pastored churches in Missouri, Winterset, Iowa and Dexter, NM. He was very involved with pioneer mission work within the Southern Baptist Convention. In retirement he devoted much of his time to mission trips throughout the United States.

Jack is survived by his son: Kenneth Austin Borum and his wife Nancy-Ray of Parkville, MO.; daughter: Ellen Louise Rodgers and her husband Layne of Hobbs, NM; Brothers: Dee Borum of Creighton, MO., Kelly Borum of Urich, MO., Dick Borum of Independence, MO.; sisters: Virginia McGuire of Raytown, MO., Sue Romine of Raytown, MO., Lucille Williams of Clinton, MO., June Millam of Clinton, MO., Eula Bullard of Independence, MO., Sharon Firsick of Raytown, MO., Joyce Herndon of Lynn, MO; grandchildren: Lindsay Borum, Kellie Borum, Jordan Rodgers, and Dylan Rodgers. He is also survived by many loving brothers and sisters-in-laws and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to those who comforted and supported Jack during his final days and hours. They will always be grateful to Elaine Axton of Dahlonega, Georgia and their neighbors Dan and Rachel Melendez.
