Henry Shepard

Henry Harrison Shepard, age 81 of Roswell, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born on June 4, 1939 in Fort Lupton, Colorado to the home of George and Cynthia Shepard.

Henry was a welder by trade and enjoyed using his talent not only for repairs and manufacturing, but also for creating artwork. He also spent time working with grain silos. When Henry wasn’t working, you could find him fishing, hunting, and hiking in the great outdoors. He also enjoyed traveling including in his early years heading to Las Vegas for a little arm wrestling. Most of all, Henry was a family man and enjoyed any opportunity to be with them.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents George and Cynthia and son Harrison Shepard.

Henry is survived by his children: daughters Susan Kinman of Roswell, NM, Chris McKay of Crowell, TX, and Teresa Provence of College Station, TX; sons James Shepard of Amarillo, TX, and Robert Gephart of Congress, AZ. Henry is also survived by his siblings: Brother George Shephard of Amarillo, TX, sister Sue Doss in Ardmore, OK, brothers Glen Shepard of Amarillo, TX and Carl Shepard of Oklahoma, sisters Dorothy Berry of Amarillo, TX and Vera Johnson of Tulia, TX. Henry is survived 22 grandchildren and 51 greatgrandchildren.

A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 1:00 PM at LaGrone Funeral Chapel.
