Helen Jean Lopez, of Artesia New Mexico, passed away on July 28, 2026. Helen was born in Artesia, NM on August 2, 1958, and remained there all her life. She will be welcomed in Heaven by her father, Anacleto Lopez, and her mother Luciana Delgado; by both of her brothers, Johnny J. Lopez and Luis Lopez; as well as her sister, Frances Tesillo; and by her nephew, Andrew Lopez.

Helen was a big supporter of her hometown, the Artesia Bulldogs and loved to attend Friday Night Lights. She was a faithful member of her church, Trinity Temple Assembly of God; and she set an example for her friends and family everyday serving the Lord. On her free time, Helen enjoyed playing BINGO, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, no matter the destination or task at hand.

Those left to cherish her memory on Earth are her son, Eugene Lopez; Daughters, Veronica and Regina Lopez; and her precious grandchildren, Anthony, Marc, Rob, Juan, Enrique, Christan, Ysidra, Amado, Luciano, and Zion; and nephew Homer.

Helen left a lasting impact on all who knew her, and all who knew her loved her dearly. A special Thank You to the staff at San Pedro Rehabilitation and Melissa with Inhabit Hospice, for their dedication and care during Helen’s last moments.

There will be a Memorial Service held for Helen at a later date, and a further announcement will be made once details have been finalized.
