Jerry Joe Castillo

Jerry was born July 26, 1958, in Roswell, NM and passed on May 6, 2025, in Roswell NM. Jerry is the son of Delia Cardona and Adam Castillo. Jerry worked as a mason and was a seasoned mountain man chopping firewood. Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, cruising and going to car shows and spending time with family, friends and loved ones. Jerry loved attending school and special events for his grandchildren, cheering them on and being their #1 fan. Jerry and his lifelong best friend, Bobby Tegeda, would cruise the Ruidoso mountain side checking out the wildlife and sometimes all the way to Alamogordo, just to pick up a gallon of milk. Jerry could always bring smiles and laughter with his jokes and silly sayings that will never be forgotten. Jerry’s last days were spent surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones.

Jerry is survived by his three sons, Jerry Vallejos and his wife Rebekah Vallejos; Isaac Castillo and his wife Katy Castillo; Matthew Castillo and his wife Katherine Castillo. Two sisters, Carmen Lara; Barbara and her husband Rudy Anaya. One brother, Larry Castillo; 15 grandchildren, Nathanial V., Abraxas V., Mackanzie M., Ben F., Madelyn C., Cody H., Austin B., Isaac C., Katya W., Jerry V., Rychard H., Jack B. , Allie B., Matthew C.,  and Solana C.; 8 great- grandchildren and many many nieces and nephews.

Jerry is preceded in death by his father Adam Castillo and his mother, Delia Cardona; Two brothers, Rudy and Billy Castillo; and one sister, Terry Castillo.

The Pallbearers will be Freddy Franco, Juan Franco, Ronnie Castillo, little Ronnie Castillo, Isaac Castillo, and little Matthew Castillo.

Honorary pall bearers are Bobby Tegeda; Jerry Vallejos; Matthew Castillo; and Inez Bustamante.

“Look At The Cows”

A visitation will be held in Jerry’s honor on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, from 2:00pm-6:00pm, with a Rosary beginning at 6:00pm until 7:00pm.

A funeral service will be held the following day, Friday, May 16, 2025, 2:00pm, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel with a burial to follow at South Park Cemetery.
