Etelka (Jane) Retherford

   Etelka Retherford, fondly known as Jane, was born July 15, 1931, in Springfield Illinois. She went home to the Lord and to her Husband, Jack, who preceded her in death, surrounded by family and friends on March 19, 2024.

  Jane loved to cook, sew and crochet. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She met the love of her life, when her brother brought his best friend home from boot camp. From the moment Jack and Jane married to the day they were reunited in heaven, their love story has been one for the ages. Through moves, hardships, and all the joys the Air Force brings, neither of them wavered in their dedication to the church. Jack and Jane were members of Crossroads Assembly of God and dedicated their lives to the ministry of others. Her last years were filled with love and care from Mrs. Maria Lozano, a long-time friend of the family.

  Jane is preceded in death by her husband Jack, sons Jack Allen, and David; Her parents and siblings. Jane is survived by her daughter Jean; Grandson David Retherford and his wife Linda; Granddaughter Stephanie Stewart and great-grandson James; Grandson Jamie Stark and his mother Marianne; Also several great grandchildren.

   A visitation for Jane will be held at LaGrone Funeral Chapel on March 27, 2024, from 2:00pm-5:00pm with a Graveside Funeral service at South Park Cemetery to follow, March 28, 2024, at 10:00am.
