Eric Duane Wheat

Eric Duane Wheat was born on April 21, 1972 in Mesa, Arizona. He was raised in Arizona until his parents, Gordon and Paulette Wheat, moved to Roswell, NM in 1977.

Eric went to school at Berrendo Elementary, Berrendo Middle School, and graduated from Goddard High School in 1991. When he was young, he loved to play soccer and played for RYSA. In high school, Eric participated in choir and was a great singer and was always singing and whistling. He lived in Safford, AZ for a short time and returned to Roswell.

On July 29, 2000 Eric married Lara (Morgan) Allen. When he married Lara, he got the privilege to be a part of her son, Tristen Allen’s life. They lived in Ruidoso, NM where Eric worked for C & L Lumber. They moved back to Roswell and Eric worked for his dad at Pine Lodge Truss. Eric and Lara had two daughters together, Emily and Abigail.

Eric loved hunting and shooting. He enjoyed taking his kids with him on any hunt he could draw. If he wasn’t hunting or shooting, he was watching or talking about hunting and shooting. He loved riding three wheelers and four wheelers down in the “Horse Shoe”. He enjoyed exploring and catching wild creatures too.

Eric is proceeded in death by his wife, Lara Wheat; his dad, Gordon Wheat; grandparents, Gene and Corene O’Dell, Hosea and Hattie Wheat.

Those left to remember him…his son: Tristen Allen; daughters: Emily Wheat and Abigail Wheat; his mother: Paulette Wheat; brother: Brent (Shawna) Wheat; sisters: Sherry (Wayne) States, and Angela (Chad Sallee) Flores. Eric is also survived by 4 beautiful grandchildren, 2 nieces and 4 nephews.
