EMILY FRANCES HARMON
Emily Frances Harmon departed this life on September 13, 2026 at her home in Roswell, New Mexico. She was surrounded by her family and friends. Emily was born on August 11, 1981 in Waterloo, Iowa. She attended public schools in Iowa, Connecticut, and Oklahoma, completing high school in 2003 in Jenks, Oklahoma. She then moved with her parents to New Mexico and lived with them until moving into her own home in 2015, supported by the caring staff of Tobosa Developmental Services in Roswell. Although Emily had many physical and developmental challenges caused by meningitis as an infant, these challenges never slowed her down. She loved people, the outdoors, her family, and her pets. Through the years she was blessed with excellent teachers, caring peer tutors, loving roommates, and compassionate therapists and care providers.

 Emily was preceded in death by her grandparents: Robert Stephen Mitchell, Frances Speer Mitchell, Kenneth Eliot Harmon, Sr., and Carolyn Underhill Harmon. 

She is survived by her parents: Rev. Stephanie and Ken Harmon, Jr. of Lenexa, KS; brother, Chris Harmon and his wife, Kayla, of Lawrence, KS; as well as her aunts, uncles, and cousins.
