Dorothy (Dottie) Peters Turner
Dorothy (Dottie) Peters Turner entered into rest on Thursday, May 23, 2024, in Roswell, New Mexico. Dottie was born June 22, 1925, to Effie Morgan and Wilbur Peters, in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Dorothy was born and raised in Allentown, PA, where she graduated from Allentown High School in June of 1943. Dorothy and her husband, Russell, moved to Roswell in 1977. Dorothy and Russell did extensive traveling covering 48 states. They became members of the Highland Baptist Church, where they met Reverand Richard Smith, who became a good friend and a blessing during Russell’s illness. Dorothy worked as a business/ office manager in the automotive field until she retired at age 77. She was also an avid “bingo player.”
Dorothy is preceded in death by both of her parents, Effie and Wilbur; The love of her life, Russell Turner; Two sisters, Lorraine and Vivian Peters; Three brothers, Wilbur Jr., Norwood, and George Peters; and both her beloved son, John Pearson Jr., and beloved daughter, Diane Hill.
Dorothy lives on in the memory of her daughter, Carole Hahn of Moab, Utah; her son, Richard Pearson Sr. and wife, Esther, of Smyrna, Delaware; her son, Bradford Pearson of Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania; her granddaughter, Michele Strange and her husband, Chris; her grandson, Rev. Richard Pearson Jr. and his wife, Danielle; her grandson, David Pearson and his wife, Suzanne; her grandson, Brian Pearson and his wife, Kim; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren!
Dorothy loved life, her husband, and her family dearly. She told her loved ones, “There shall be no tears or sorrow, only a party to celebrate my life.”
A visitation for Dorothy is scheduled on Thursday, May 30, 2024, starting at 1:00pm until 4:00pm at LaGrone Funeral Chapel, with a graveside service the following day, at 10:00am, Friday, May 31,2024 at South Park Cemetery.
