Doris Galloway

GALLOWAY, DORIS- Doris Galloway, age 96, of Roswell, passed away in the early morning of March 18. She grew up in Waco, TX and graduated from Waco High School. After the death of her mother, she moved to Albuquerque, NM, where she met and married Sherman "Pinky" Galloway. A month after they were married, they moved to Roswell, where Sherman accepted a position with the New Mexico State Engineer's Office.

Doris was a telephone operator in Waco, Albuquerque, and Roswell, before their two children were born. She expressed her creativity through sewing, oil painting, and jewelry making. She enjoyed preparing for and teaching children's Bible classes. Doris was a Christian and a member of the Church of Christ.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman, her sister, Barbara Ann, and a brother, Jerry. She is survived by her daughter, Clare, her son, Barry, and a brother, Donald.

We would like to thank the following for their loving care of our mom: Sarah East-Brumana and the staff at Kymera, Dr. Gabriele Stiller and Takiesha of Kindred Hospice, and Ginny and her staff at Heartfelt Manor.

No services are scheduled due to the coronavirus. A celebration of her life by her family will take place at a later date.
