David passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 with his family at his side.

David was born July 15, 1964 to Robert L. Sommerville and Kathryn (Bauldridge) Sommerville in Fairfield, CA.

Upon graduating from RHS, David served 4 years in the United States Air Force. After he returned home, he held numerous jobs including working for TMC-Nova Bus for many years. Most recently, David was an Alsups Store Manager.

David was a hard worker, a loving son, and a devoted father. He was known for his easy-going personality and good nature.

David’s pride and joy was his only daughter, Ashley, and he treasured all the time he could spend with her. He was very proud of Ashley and grateful to have all of her help as he battled many health issues in recent years. David was very thoughtful and considerate of others and loved joking around with everyone.

David was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Sommerville and both sets of grandparents.

Survivors left to cherish his memory are his mother, Kathryn Sommerville and daughter, Ashley Sommerville, both of Roswell.

He also has two sisters, Nancy Gramse of Roswell, NM and Lisa and Keith Wolters of Syracuse, Utah. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews: Heather Wilson (Josh), Krystal Gramse, Mathew Singleton, James Singleton and several great nieces and great nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of David’s doctors and the ENMMC Hospital staff.

WHEN I'M GONE

When I come to the end of my journey

and I travel my last weary mile,

Just forget if you can that I ever frowned

and remember only the smile.

Forget unkind words I have spoken,

remember some good I have done;

Forget that I ever had heartache

and remember I've had loads of fun.

Forget that I've stumbled and blundered

and fell by the way,

Remember I have fought some hard battles

and won, ere the close of the day.

Then forget the grief of my going,

I would not have you sad for one day.
