Darlene Searcy, 83, of Roswell, New Mexico peacefully entered eternal rest on June 29, 2018.
Darlene was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming to James and Lucinda McCord October 16, 1934.
Darlene was the beloved wife of the late FJ Searcy and loving mother of Gene Gaudern and his wife Faith of Albuquerque NM, Richard Gaudern and his wife Bobbie of Cleveland TN, Kathy Driessen and her husband Brian Driessen of Roswell NM and Danny Gaudern of Roswell NM. She was lovingly known as "Granny" to her 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren. Darlene was preceded in death by both her parents James and Lucinda, Brother Dale McCord, husband FJ Searcy and grandson James Driessen.
Darlene was a beautician and worked at Levi Strauss for 28 years before she retired. She spent her retirement years enjoying time with her family. She loved to cook, sew, crochet and was an avid doll collector. She could have been a master chef and left us with some mouthwatering coveted family recipes. She taught her children and grandchildren to cook from scratch, sew and make clothes, and to crochet. She loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time with her family was important to her. She would spend hours cooking and preparing for the gathering and feast. She was very much loved and will be missed by many.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:00 am in South Park Cemetery. Brother Richard Smith will be officiating.
Though her smile is gone forever
And her hand I cannot touch
I still have so many memories
Of the one I loved much.
Her memory is now my keepsake
Which with I'll never part.
God has her in his keeping
I have her in my heart.
Sadly missed but never forgotten
