Clara Isbell

Clara Ruby Isbell, age 90, of Roswell, went to be with Our Lord on Friday, September 22, 2017. Visitation is scheduled for 12:00-5:30pm on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. The Resurrection Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 am on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, burial to follow at South Park Cemetery with Father Joe Paquin officiating. A reception in her honor will be held following burial at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.

Clara was born September 12, 1927 to Thaddeus John Zabava and Victoria Budzisz Zabava in New Waverly, Texas. She married Clarence Albert Isbell, Jr. on October 7, 1950 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Conroe, Texas. She was a faithful member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, and she attended the Adoration Chapel as an adorer on a regular basis. She was a prayer warrior. She loved gardening, bowling, and she was the "queen" of garage sales. She enjoyed being a seamstress, where she repaired and did alterations, as well as making pillows for her family members. During the time of raising her own children, she babysat and helped raise many children in her neighborhood.

She is preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life Clarence (Izzy) Isbell; daughter: Kathleen Grace Isbell; siblings: Christina Zabava and Sophia Zabava, Valerie (Richard) Maneely, Steve Zabava, Dorothy Dames, Margaret (Bill) Toepher; son-in-law: Max Tappero; brother-in-law: Felix Lancaster.

She is survived by sisters: Virginia Lancaster, Gertrude (Tony) Velasquez, Stella Zabava; brother: Anthony Zabava; sister-in-law: Polly Zabava; brother-in-law: Frank Dames; In-laws: Pauline and Carlos Kee. Daughters: Mary (Jerry) Fussell, Barbara Toberg (Paul Bahlinger), Jeannette Tappero, Gloria (Bill) Wier, Angela Isbell; sons: Jesse (Cheryl) Isbell, Marvin (Cynthia) Isbell, Christopher (Nancy) Isbell, Glenn (Danna) Isbell; twenty-two grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; a multitude of nieces and nephews with whom she remained very close to throughout the years. She will also be missed by numerous friends.
Pallbearers will be Blake Isbell, Johnathan Isbell, Michael Isbell, Justin Tappero, Travis Tappero, Daniel Toberg, Mandy Thomas, Kit Wier, Shelby Wier. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Clara's grandchildren who could not be present, but will be with her in Spirit.

A special thanks and appreciation is extended to all of the Beehive Home Staff who cared so lovingly for Clara Mom!

Memorial contributions may be made in Clara's honor to the Altar and Rosary Society of Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and/or All Saints Catholic School both of Roswell, New Mexico.
