Bob Whitaker

A memorial service will be held 10:00 am, Friday, May 29, 2015 at LaGrone Funeral Chapel for Bob H. Whitaker, age 82, of Roswell who passed away on May 24, 2015. A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm, Friday, May 29, 2015 at Angus Cemetery in Lincoln County. Pastor Troy Grant will officiate.

Bob was born to William and Effie Whitaker in Roswell, NM on October 7, 1932.

Bob was raised on a ranch in Arabela, NM. He attended school at LFD and Roswell High School. He continued on to attend New Mexico Military Institute. He was a trucker and a rancher, he loved to attend farm auctions and felt at home there. Bob loved his dog, Spot who faithfully followed him everywhere.

He is preceded in death by his son, Tommy M. Whitaker.

Bob is survived by his wife, Colleen; sons, Jerry D. Whitaker and his wife Millie of Roswell, NM; Harold G. Whitaker of Roswell, NM and Roy Dale Whitaker of Austin, TX; daughter, Jeanette Whitaker of Longview, TX; sisters, Maxine "Mackie" Whitaker of Tinnie, NM and Idele Huey and her husband Pat of Capitan, NM; biological grandchildren, T.J. Whitaker, Ryan McCullough, Jared Whitaker, Amanda Whitaker, Kelsey Whitaker, Taylor Whitaker, Levi Whitaker, Cody Tarvin and Brandon Jones; along with numerous great grandchildren.
