He was born December 17, 1957 in Bay City, MI to Karl Albert Doege and Janet Joyce Primmer. He with his older brother, Karl, and younger sister, Jill, grew up in Greendale, WI where he played the snare drum and enjoyed gymnastics until he was too tall.  From a young age, he was a huge Bart Starr fan of the Green Bay Packers but eventually became a disappointed Dallas Cowboys' fan.  Blane always loved the great outdoors. As a youth he would build snow forts, fish, ice skate and sled with his brother and sister. He also found joy in collecting arrow heads with his Grandpa Primmer.  His family moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1972 when he was a sophomore in High School. Blane then served in the Air Force for 4 years where he worked as an Air Traffic Controller. After Military Service, Blane was hired by the Federal Aviation Administration in Albuquerque, NM, where he met his two lifelong friends, Ruben Licon and Mike Abeyta. They all eventually moved to DFW (Dallas Fort Worth). While working at DFW Airport, Blane was set up on a blind date with his co-worker’s cousin. Little did he know that his life would forever be changed because he met the love of his life, Kim Ogletree, of whom he was blessed to spend 28 years.  Blane retired as an Air Traffic Control supervisor in the Traffic Management Unit after 37 years of government service.

Blane was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Joyce Schneider, and his eldest son, Jeremy Blane Doege.  Blane is survived by his wife, Kim Doege, their 3 wonderful children, Jason Lee Doege of Denton, TX, Jonathan Steven Doege and fiancé, Alisha, of Dallas, TX, and Jessica Michelle Hunley and her husband, Andrew, of Midland, TX; 2 grandchildren, Miah Wendt Doege of El Paso, TX and Jacob Lee Doege of Albuquerque, NM and his brother, Karl Doege and wife, Sally, of Albuquerque, NM, his sister, Jill Schmidt and husband, Rick, of Mancos, CO, and sister-in-laws, Rhonda Cooper and husband, Marty, of Roswell, NM and Michelle Lyon and husband,Tim, of Roswell, NM. He also had many beloved nieces and nephews.

Blane had a heart for helping others wherever he saw a need. He donated his blood and platelets as often as possible, which, over the years, totaled over 50 gallons. He volunteered with the Sierra Fire Department and used his gifts of carpentry and handiwork to serve the Lord, contributing to his community in any way he could. He loved fishing, hiking, gardening and swimming. He especially enjoyed golfing with his father-in-law/best friend, Steve, and nephew, Trevor. Blane was a dog whisperer and loved his faithful dogs, Bella and Charlie. Most of all, Blane was a family man.  He spent time with his loved ones cooking, playing games and always putting the needs of others before his own. Blane came to know the Lord and shared that life changing moment of baptism with his children, Jon and Jessie. He was a wonderful husband and a rock for his wife and children. Blane planted the seeds that have developed into a legacy of love, faith and generosity.  His memory will be cherished by all the lives he touched.

Pallbearers will be Scotty Cooksey, Justin Cooper, Brandon Cooper, Trevor Cooper, Michael Lyon and William Lyon.
