Benita Acosta

Benita S. Acosta, age 81, of Roswell, NM passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017. A mass of will be held 9:00 A.M., Wednesday April 12, 2017 at St. John's Catholic Church. Father George Hernandez will be officiating. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Benita was born March 21, 1936 in Valle de Zaragoza, Chihuahua, Mexico to Agustin Acosta and Adolfa Saenz-Acosta. She enjoyed many activities in life spending time with her family, traveling, watching her favorite Novelas', gardening, and feeding everyone. Benita loved to dance, her favorite colors were pink and blue, loved listening to music, she liked Milky Way candy bars, and other favorite foods were enchiladas and chimichangas. She also enjoyed cookouts and attending church; she was a member of St. John's Catholic Church for 40 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents Agustin Acosta and Adolfa Saenz-Acosta; brothers Andres Acosta, Socorro Acosta, Ramon Acosta; sisters Canuta, Tomasa, and Ignacia.

She is survived by sons Jose Acosta of Roswell, NM, Armando Acosta and his wife Lourdes, their children Armando and Marcos of Mexico; daughters Blanca Posada and her husband Gabriel, their children Gabriel, Carlos, and Karla, of Roswell, NM, Irma Acosta, her children Irma and Luisa of Roswell, NM; brothers Celestino Acosta and his wife Lourdes of CA, Panfilo Acosta and his wife Maria of Mexico; sister Manuela Villagomez and her husband Salvador of TX; great grandchildren Leonel Lorenzo, Gabriel III, and Jose Carlos.

Pallbearers will be Jose G. Acosta, Bill Dean, Gabriel Posada, Gabriel Posada Jr., Carlos Posada, and Salvador Villagomez.
