Arcelia Rivera

RIVERA, ARCELIA P. -

A rosary will be recited for Arcelia P. Rivera, 77, of Dexter, NM at 9:00 AM, at St. John's Catholic Church, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM, on Tuesday, July 3, 2018. Interment will be at South Park Cemetery with Fr. Eduardo Espinoza officiating.

Arcelia passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, Saturday, June 30, 2018.

Arcelia was born in Satevo, Chihuahua, Mexico on August 12, 1940 to Eduardo and Maria A. Prieto and married the love of her life, Jose Francisco Rivera, Sr. on January 7, 1961. She loved looking for new plants to add to her garden, and had a gift for tending to roses. She was always ready for road trips to see new places and visit her family. Arcelia's faith in God gave her strength in all she accomplished. She was an active Eucharistic Minister at St. John's Church and was a long-time member of the Cursillo Movement. She devotedly attended Adoration regularly and holy mass every Sunday.

Arcelia was preceded in death by her parents, Eduardo and Maria A. Prieto; husband, Jose Francisco Rivera, Sr; son, Jose Francisco Rivera, Jr; and brothers Ramiro and Saul Prieto.

Her memory will be cherished by daughter, Rosa E. Aguilar (Jesus), of Dexter, NM; son, Ricardo Rivera (Diana), of Hagerman, NM; son, Mario Rivera (Corrie), of Dexter, NM; daughter, Arcelia Rivera (Ruben), of Roswell, NM; brothers and sisters: Elizardo, Emma, Florentino, Raul, Felipa, Tomasa, Jesus, Olivia, Luz, and Lourdes. Arcelia was bless with 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. Arcelia touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew her.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Jose Jr., Dominica, Anthony, Burnie III, Brittny, Desiree, Richard, Isaac, Mario, Bobby, Letisha, Isaiah, Travis, Aneissa, Ruben, Antoinette, Arthur.
