Dr. Annette Rose Stoesser passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on September 24, 1942, Annette was raised in Carmel, California, where she developed a lifelong appreciation for learning, sportsmanship and service to others. She was the beloved daughter of Eric and Mildred Stoesser, who instilled in her a strong sense of compassion, curiosity, and dedication. Annette attended Carmel Mission Basilica School and later Santa Catalina School and UC Santa Barbara, experiences that helped shape her intellectual curiosity and discipline from an early age.

From childhood and throughout her life, Annette was an avid tennis player. She grew up playing with her parents and her brother, George, and competed in numerous tournaments as a junior and collegiate player. Her love of the sport continued well into her senior years, bringing her both joy and lasting friendships.

Annette dedicated her life to the practice of medicine and was a true pioneer in preventative medicine. She earned her medical degree from Woman’s Medical College of Pennsylvania (MCP-Hahnemann College of Medicine), followed by a transitional internship at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine (1969–1970) and a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology (1970–1975) at the same institution. Her forward-thinking approach to healthcare emphasized prevention long before it became widely embraced. Many of her grateful patients credited her with restoring them to health—an approach that, simply put, was ahead of her time.

Throughout her decades of practice, Dr. Stoesser earned the respect of colleagues and the deep gratitude of countless patients. She brought not only clinical expertise but also warmth, empathy, and integrity to her work, forming meaningful and lasting relationships with those in her care.

Annette was known for her quick wit, deep curiosity, and an eccentric but deeply loving nature that endeared her to those who knew her best. She found great joy in the companionship of her beloved dogs—Honey, Sweetie, Dickens, and Precious—who were constant and cherished members of her life.

Annette was predeceased by her parents and her brother, George Stoesser. She is lovingly remembered by her nephews William Stoesser and Jeffery Stoesser, and her niece Melissa Stoesser Young. She also leaves behind her cherished great-nephews Eric Stoesser, Henry Stoesser, Thomas Stoesser, and MacIntyre Young, and her great-nieces Mia Young, Payton Young, and Vivian Stoesser, all of whom brought her great pride and joy.

Annette will be remembered for her intelligence, kindness, individuality, and unwavering dedication to both medicine and the people she loved. Her legacy lives on through her family and the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
