Michael Koonce
Funeral Director

Michael is a native of Roswell being a life long resident. He is a graduate of Goddard High School and ENMU-R.

Michael has been a director with LaGrone Funeral Chapel since 1981 he is also the owner of Klassic Cleaners located in Roswell. Michael is a member of the Optimist Club International.

Michael has a son Chris Koonce who is a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. All of Michaels time is spent taking care of our many families we serve and he enjoys taking care of his dogs at home.
Jeanice Holland
Administrative Assistant

Jeanice Holland has been with LaGrone Funeral Chapel since 1981 and enjoys serving our families.

She was born in Amarillo, Texas and moved to Ruidoso, NM in 1965, where she met and married her husband, Bill. He is a retired carpenter. She has 2 children, a boy and a girl, and 1 step-daughter. She has 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Jeanice, being a people person has been involved in many civic clubs including Roswell Women's Network Club, Beta Sigma Phi, Sertoma Club, which she served in all of the offices and now is into the Roswell Senior Adult Center tap dance group called RAC-A-TAPS. The group performs for many functions in town.

One of her pet projects with LaGrone's was organizing and presenting the Dignity Memorial "Escape School", a program to educate school children in ways to prevent abduction. In 2005 the program was presented to thousands of children and adults.
Cyrena Rhyne
Receptionist

Cyrena was born in Las Cruces, NM. She and her husband transferred to Roswell in 1996. Cyrena and Bill have been married for 30 years, they have 2 children, Lisetta Ketchell and Jacob Rhyne. She has two beautiful grandchildren they just absolutely adore, Ryley, 5 and Abbi, 3.

In her spare time Cyrena enjoys oil painting on rocks, tile, canvas, basically anything that won’t move. Cyrena and her husband are joined at the hip on the weekends; they go exploring, shooting, looking for rocks for her to paint on and finding music for Bill to play on his guitar.

She joined LaGrone Funeral Chapel in Sept 2005.
Tommy Weathers
Funeral Assistant

Tommy was born in Amarillo, Texas in 1942 and moved to Roswell in 1947. He is married to Linda and between the two they have seven children.

Tommy owned Scotty’s Pit Bar-B-Que for 45 years. He retired from Scotty’s and has enjoyed retirement ever since.

Tommy is a member of TIPS. He coached little league baseball, football, and basketball for seven years. He was on the board at the Historic Society and is a member of Senior Circle.

His hobbies are music related. He has a large collection of music from the 50’s thru the 70’s.Tommy joined LaGrone Funeral Chapel in 2009.
