He worked as a maintenance man for several smaller companies over the following years, eventually helping his good friend with his auto mechanics business. The last several years of his life, he touched many people and grew a pretty good, extended family. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, hanging with the boys at the garage, he liked going to the strip and watching the drag races, and he liked just poking in the boonies hunting.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the Whitlock and Skipper families for helping our dad out the past several years. You did more than you think, and it is appreciated.

My prayer is that Johns family and friends will receive the peace that God gives at this most difficult time. When anyone passes, it is hard to understand and accept but time and the
knowledge that we will see that loved one again helps. I know
John is aware of how much he was loved.
